Paws 4 Life Starts Taking Down the Rings

Paws 4 Life has started dismantling its training grounds at the old Apache Junction dog track.

In a post to the group’s Facebook page Sunday, volunteer Tom Joseph wrote that work is in progress daily to get ready to move. “It’s sad to be dismantling everything that holds a place in our hearts but we can only be hopeful that a new location will be found,” he wrote. “Volunteers are always welcome.”

Photos with the post show volunteers taking down the wood-fence training rings the group built at the Greyhound Park property over the years.

The property has been sold. The all-volunteer nonprofit — which trains service dogs for veterans, the elderly, and anyone who needs one — still has nowhere to go. We told their story Friday: Paws 4 Life Needs a New Home.
